During a Cub scout den meeting in November, Justin's leaders had the boys write letters to soldiers in Iraq. His leaders were so impressed with his letter, they made a copy for me to keep. This is what he wrote:
Dear Soldier,
How is or was life in Iraq? Were there huge spiders? If you want to write back my address is........Thank you for serving our country. My name is .......I probably would have cried being away from my family. Happy Thanksgiving! What is your name? Do you feel happy knowing you are a hero? I am a cub scout. Tell your family how sorry I am and remember to tell your kids stories of "tuff" times in the army. I would be very scared to meet you, but that's because I'm afraid of strangers. But for some reason I actually do want to meet you. So anyways ask your family how they felt when you were gone. You are probably a model for your children.
Sincerely,
Justin
I was so proud of him. I'm thankful he recognizes and appreciates our heroes.
Another letter I'd like to share goes like this:
Dear Santa,
This year I want Lego Batman, but I'll tell which kind of one: Killer croc, Harley Quinn with Batman, Joker and Batman, Penguin and Robin, or Mr. Freeze with Batman. Choose two. I would like 2 Bacugans. Santa if I'm bad I'm sorry. P.S. My sister eggs me on. From, Justin
I just had to laugh at the P.S.
